Living History Event

Russell County Homeschool Association Living History Event To culminate our study of local, state, and federal government and to showcase our amazing students, we will host a Living History Event in May. If your child is interested in participating, please follow these guidelines. Choose a president, governor, senator, etc. Research your selected historical public servant. Write a 2-3 minute script in which your character introduces him/herself and gives a brief synopsis of his/her life. Memorize your script. Put together a costume to make yourself look like your selected subject. Practice! Practice! Practice! The Living History Museum works like this: Students will be placed throughout the room as in a museum exhibit. Each student will stand frozen like a statue until someone steps on the round button on the floor in front of them. Upcoming Service and Scholastic Opportunities

Last Friday at C3PO we gave out Operation Christmas Child boxes and we also handed out the guidelines for this year's Jim Claypool Conservation Art & Writing Contest. Submission for both are due one week from today! Please bring your filled OCC box and your Art/Writing submissions to C3PO on November 18th. If you missed C3PO, but would like for your child to participate in either of these opportunities, Marisa Ramsey will have all the necessary materials at Bibliomaniacs this Monday, November 14th. Also, if your child is participating in the 4-H Written Communications Poetry Contest, submissions must be turned in to Mrs. Christy A. Martin by November 18th. You can drop submissions at the UK Extension Office or mail them to Russell Co. Extension Office c/o Christy A. Martin 2688 S. Highway 127 Russell Springs, KY 42642
